I took losartan 50 mg and, four hours later, pentoxifylline. Can it affect my blood pressure?
Answered by Doctor Florian A. Vallecillo Cabrera · José
Hello, José: In general, taking pentoxifylline a few hours after losartan is not usually a significant problem. However, both medications can promote a slight drop in blood pressure in some people, especially at the start of treatment or in elderly patients. If, after taking the medication, you notice dizziness, weakness, blurred vision or a feeling of unsteadiness, it would be advisable to measure your blood pressure and consult your doctor if the symptoms persist. Do not stop either treatment without medical advice. If both medications have been prescribed, they can usually be used together, as long as there is appropriate monitoring. I hope this resolves your question. Kind regards.
